Matt Hardy isn’t putting a ticking clock on his in-ring career — or his brother Jeff’s.
In a recent interview with GOW Media, Matt was asked how much time he and Jeff have left as active wrestlers. His answer was straightforward: the Hardys plan to keep going until their bodies force the issue.
“We’re trying to ride the spiral until it ends and that’s kind of our goal,” Matt said. “Whenever our bodies tell us like ‘Okay, we’re done.’ That’s when we’ll be done.”
The statement carries some weight when you consider the calendar. 2026 marks 32 years since Matt and Jeff both debuted on WWE programming — a remarkable run by any measure. The two re-signed with TNA Wrestling late last year, giving fans a clear answer on where they’ll be competing for the foreseeable future.
Beyond simply staying active, Matt made clear the Hardys see a mentorship dimension to this stretch of their careers. He pointed to TNA talents Private Party and Leon Slater as examples of younger wrestlers the brothers are eager to help develop.
“Until then we’re going to continue to live the childhood dream and try and give back and help people,” Matt said. “Like Private Party, like Leon Slater, if there’s anybody out there that’s young and we can give them some nuggets of wisdom, we’re all about it. We love being able to give back too, and I think that’s something that we take a lot of pride in.”
For a tag team widely regarded as future Hall of Famers, the combination of still-active competition and a genuine investment in the next generation makes TNA’s current version of The Hardys worth watching — however long it lasts.
