WWE NXT on June 30, 2026 kicked off in celebratory fashion as new NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey marked her title reign with a cake celebration alongside Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair.
The Vanity Project — Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes — successfully defended the NXT Tag Team Championships against AAA’s El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno. The challengers brought a notable power advantage and kept the champions scrambling with their athleticism, but a timely distraction from Jackson Drake allowed Baylor and Smokes to connect on a leg sweep/top rope stomp combination to seal the retention. In a related bout, Drake defeated Mason Rook with outside help from Ricky Smokes and Myka Lockwood — the latter holding Rook down as Drake scored the pinfall. Rook got some measure of revenge afterward, going on a post-match rampage and taking out every member of the Vanity Project.
EK Prosper picked up a win under unusual circumstances after Keanu Carver attacked AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo de Vikingo and took his scheduled spot in the match. Carver dominated much of the contest and drove Prosper into the announce table, but Tank Ledger appeared at ringside and attacked Carver — apparently on behalf of Hank Walker — giving Prosper the opening to steal the victory.
Jaida Parker returned to the win column by defeating Karmen Petrovic in a match complicated by the presence of Nattie’s faction at ringside. Nattie and Evolve Women’s Champion Nikkita Lyons cornered Parker on the outside, but when Layla Diggs hesitated to act, Parker recovered and put Petrovic away with Hipnotic and Deja Vu.
NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo was the victim of a brutal blindside steel chair assault from Naraku in a backstage segment that set a violent tone for that rivalry going forward.
In the evening’s final match, Kelani Jordan defeated Tatum Paxley with an Olympic Slam into a One-of-a-Kind Split-Legged Moonsault, with NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey watching from commentary — only to be blindsided by Kali Armstrong during the bout. After the bell, a debuting superstar entered the ring and attacked Paxley.
