Will Ospreay Believes He Has Five More Years of High-Flying Before He Needs to Dial It Back

Will Ospreay is aware the clock is ticking on his most physically demanding style of wrestling — but he’s not ready to slow down just yet. The AEW star has stated that he believes he has roughly five more years of his natural athleticism before he’ll need to make meaningful adjustments to how he performs inside the ring.

It’s a candid acknowledgment from one of professional wrestling’s most gifted athletes, and it comes after a year that already tested the limits of his body. Ospreay made his return to AEW at Revolution earlier this year following neck surgery — the kind of procedure that would have permanently altered the career trajectory of many performers. That he’s back at full speed, competing at the level fans have come to expect, speaks to both his physical gifts and his commitment to the craft.

Since returning, Ospreay has aligned himself with the Death Riders, a faction that has become one of AEW’s most prominent stables. Looking ahead, he’s also setting his sights on winning the Owen Hart Tournament, giving him a clear short-term goal as he works his way back into the title picture.

For a performer whose entire identity is built on jaw-dropping athleticism — the aerial sequences, the precision, the sheer pace — the question of longevity is one that will follow him throughout the back half of his career. For now, though, Ospreay seems content with where he stands: healthy, motivated, and by his own estimation, still very much in his prime.
