TNA Wrestling Discussing Addition of New Midcard Women’s Championship

TNA Wrestling is reportedly exploring the creation of a new women’s title, with the idea of adding some kind of midcard women’s championship having been pitched internally. No additional details about the concept, timeline, or potential format have emerged beyond the initial report.

The move, if it comes to fruition, would give TNA’s women’s division a secondary title to complement the existing TNA Knockouts Championship — a structure that has become increasingly common across the industry. WWE, for instance, operates with both the Women’s Championship and the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the main roster, while AEW has similarly expanded its women’s title picture over the years.

For TNA specifically, a midcard women’s title could serve as a meaningful tool for roster development. The Knockouts division has historically been one of the promotion’s most celebrated strengths, and a secondary championship would create additional opportunities for matches and storylines without requiring every competitor to be in the hunt for the top title.

That said, the report makes clear this is still at the discussion stage — a pitch, not a done deal. Whether the idea gains traction and makes it to television remains to be seen. Given that TNA has been actively working to raise its profile since securing a deal with The CW Network and building fresh momentum heading into 2025, the timing of such a move would carry extra weight. Fans with an interest in the Knockouts division will want to keep an eye on any updates as the promotion’s plans develop.
