Thunder Rosa Calls CMLL Stint a Learning Experience, Credits Locker Room for Warm Welcome

Thunder Rosa has opened up about her ongoing run with CMLL, describing the experience as a genuine education and expressing gratitude for the reception she’s received from her fellow performers.

Rosa signed a contract with the storied Mexican promotion back in April and has since become a familiar presence on their cards. During that stretch, she’s had the opportunity to step into the ring with some of CMLL’s most prominent names, including Zeuxis and Reyna Isis — two of the promotion’s top women’s competitors.

In a recent conversation with Brad Gilmore, Rosa reflected on what the run has meant to her, characterizing it as a learning process while also making a point to highlight how welcoming the people around her have been. It’s a notable endorsement of CMLL’s locker room culture, particularly for someone making the transition into a promotion with its own deeply rooted traditions and style.

CMLL is one of the oldest active wrestling organizations in the world, and its in-ring culture — especially in the women’s division — carries a distinct identity that differs considerably from what Rosa built her name on in North America. Her willingness to step into that environment and embrace the process speaks to the kind of career versatility she’s cultivated over the years, from her indie work to her AEW run, where she held the TBS and Women’s World Championships.

How her CMLL tenure develops from here remains to be seen, but by her own account, Rosa is settling in and soaking up everything the opportunity has to offer.
