Satomura, Kobashi Set For Takayama Benefit Show In Tokyo

Meiko Satomura and Kenta Kobashi are set to appear as special guests at TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE V, with two new matches also added to the card. The event is scheduled for September 7 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE is an annual benefit show held in support of Yoshihiro Takayama, the respected Japanese veteran who has been paralyzed from the neck down since suffering an injury in 2017. The series has become a fixture on the Japanese wrestling calendar, drawing legends and current stars alike to raise funds and awareness for Takayama’s ongoing care.

Satomura, one of the most decorated women’s wrestlers in the world and a former Stardom ace, and Kobashi, a legendary figure from his run in All Japan Pro Wrestling and widely regarded as one of the greatest to ever compete in the sport, joining as special guests adds significant star power to this year’s edition. Their involvement underscores the respect Takayama continues to command across the Japanese wrestling scene despite being out of action for nearly a decade.

Details on the newly added matches were not fully specified, but the additions build on a card that already includes a main event. As is typical for TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE shows, more names and bouts are expected to be confirmed as September 7 approaches.

TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE V will mark the fifth installment of the benefit series, which has consistently brought together talent from multiple promotions and eras to honor Takayama’s legacy and support him following his injury. Further updates on the full lineup are expected in the coming weeks.
