Roman Reigns Seeks Allies As the 946 Close In

Roman Reigns opened WWE Raw on Tuesday, October 20, by reconnecting with Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn — but the sit-down quickly turned tense. The two are already booked to collide at Crown Jewel, yet Reigns used the moment to gauge where Zayn’s loyalties stand amid the growing threat of the 946, the faction that added Carmelo Hayes to its ranks last week. Reigns pointedly asked Zayn whether he was there to fight alongside the Bloodline or against it, and the exchange escalated rather than resolved.

Backstage, Jackie Redmond pressed Reigns on how he intended to handle a gauntlet of enemies that now includes the 946, Zayn himself, and Money in the Bank holder Penta. Reigns admitted he’s working on it, but with Zayn declining to commit, he conceded it was time to go “back to the drawing board.”

That phrase is doing a lot of work. The math is simple enough: the Bloodline currently counts five members, including Solo Sikoa, against four in the 946. If Reigns wants to even the numbers by bringing in outside muscle, logic suggests someone already inside the family tree has to be the one who turns. The two names that jump out are Jacob Fatu, who vanished from television after being run down by Jaida Parker, and Sikoa, who only recently patched things up with the family following his own kidnapping at the hands of the 946. Neither swerve lines up cleanly — Sikoa is enjoying arguably the best babyface reception of his main-roster career, and turning him now would undercut that momentum, while sending Fatu back into Royce Keys’ orbit after he was literally run over by the group would feel like a strange reward for his attackers. A Jey Uso heel turn, given his ties to Parker and the group, is the more plausible wildcard if any Bloodline member is going to flip.

The more intriguing question is who Reigns might recruit from outside the family altogether. LA Knight would seem the natural pick given his standing as a top babyface, but his long-running friction with the Bloodline makes an alliance hard to picture, even in service of fighting a common enemy. That leaves Seth Rollins, whose 14-year saga with Reigns finally closed out at SummerSlam in August. Rollins hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since that chapter ended, and a surprise return built around helping his old rival against the 946 would be a genuine curveball — one that would instantly reframe one of the promotion’s defining rivalries as something closer to a temporary truce.

For now, nothing is confirmed beyond the friction between Reigns and Zayn and the ticking clock toward Crown Jewel. But with the 946 continuing to add bodies and pick off Bloodline allies one by one, Reigns’ admission that he needs to rethink his strategy suggests WWE is laying groundwork for a roster shake-up. Whether that means a shocking betrayal from within the family or a blast-from-the-past return, the next few weeks of Raw figure to answer exactly who, if anyone, answers Roman Reigns’ call.
