Nemeth-Hardy Title Bout Contract Signing Set For Impact

TNA has added a contract signing between Nic Nemeth and Jeff Hardy to Thursday, August 6’s episode of Impact, formalizing their upcoming World Championship showdown. Hardy is set to challenge Nemeth for the title the following Thursday, and the signing segment gives both men a platform to trade words before they get physical.

Contract signings are a wrestling staple for a reason — they’re a low-cost way to build heat and stakes without anyone taking a bump, and given the history between these two, TNA has plenty to work with. Nemeth and Hardy are both former multi-time world champions across multiple promotions, with decades of experience cutting exactly this kind of segment. Expect some fireworks, whether that’s a shouting match, a shove, or something that leaves the desk in pieces by the time the pyro hits.

Nemeth’s title reign has been a notable second act in his career after years as a mid-card mainstay in WWE, and defending against a name as established as Hardy only raises the profile of the belt. Hardy, meanwhile, remains one of the most recognizable and beloved figures in wrestling history, and a title win — however it plays out — would be a significant moment for TNA’s main event scene. The company has leaned into legacy stars alongside its younger roster, and this program fits that strategy of blending nostalgia with genuine championship stakes.

What happens on Thursday’s show will likely set the emotional tone heading into the actual title match the following week. Whether the segment stays civil or devolves into chaos, TNA clearly wants eyes on this rivalry well before the bell rings. Fans watching Impact this week should expect the contract signing to be a focal point of the broadcast, with the promotion building toward what looks to be one of its bigger championship matches on the horizon.
