Místico To Address Future, Title Goals On MLW Fusion

Místico is set to sit down with MLW Insider Rich Bocchini on MLW Fusion this Saturday, August 15, for an exclusive interview about his future in the promotion and his championship ambitions. The segment airs as part of Fusion’s broadcast, with the luchador expected to speak directly on where he sees himself heading next in Major League Wrestling.

Since arriving in MLW, Místico has served as one of the sport’s most visible ambassadors, lending credibility and star power to the promotion’s ongoing alliance with CMLL. That partnership has already produced high-profile crossover events, including FantasticaMania USA, which has continued to raise the stakes for lucha talent working under the MLW banner. Místico’s standing as one of the most decorated and influential luchadores of his generation makes any statement about his goals within the company worth paying attention to, whether that means a pursuit of championship gold or a broader role in shaping the promotion’s lucha libre direction.

MLW has leaned heavily into its CMLL ties over the past several years, and featuring a figure of Místico’s stature in a one-on-one format signals the company wants to keep that storyline front and center. With the title picture in flux across MLW’s divisions, any hint from Místico about targeting a championship could shift how fans view the current contenders list, particularly among the promotion’s international and lucha-influenced competitors.

Beyond the immediate title implications, this interview also serves as a chance for MLW to reinforce Místico’s importance to the brand’s identity. Luchadores with his level of name recognition don’t often commit to extended runs with promotions outside CMLL and AAA, so his continued presence — and now his willingness to speak on camera about long-term plans — suggests MLW believes there’s more mileage to get out of the relationship.

Fusion airs this Saturday at 6:05 p.m. ET, streaming free on YouTube, with additional availability at 9:00 p.m. ET on VEEPS and a 10:00 p.m. ET broadcast on beIN Sports. The episode will also stream on NJPW World on Monday at 12:00 p.m. JST, which corresponds to Sunday at 11:00 p.m. ET in the United States.

Whether Místico’s comments point toward a title chase or a bigger-picture role within MLW’s lucha libre push, his willingness to speak openly about his future gives fans a reason to tune in beyond the usual in-ring action. Expect the wrestling world to parse every word once the interview airs.
