Matt Riddle Set To Battle Bishop Dyer On MLW Fusion

Matt Riddle is set to headline MLW Fusion on Saturday, August 29, when he squares off against Bishop Dyer in a match carrying real championship weight.

The bout is the latest flashpoint in the rising conflict between Riddle and The Skyscrapers, the imposing trio of Dyer, Donovan Dijak, and Josh Bishop. The group has already established itself as a dominant force in MLW’s tag team scene, but their ambitions have grown well beyond that. The Skyscrapers have made it known they’re eyeing the MLW World Heavyweight Championship as their next conquest, and that pursuit now puts them directly in Riddle’s path.

Riddle, for his part, isn’t interested in getting out of the way. “The Rude Dude” has spent recent months working his way back toward the top of the MLW roster, and a clash with one-third of The Skyscrapers gives him a chance to make a statement against a faction that’s been steadily building momentum. Beating Dyer wouldn’t just slow The Skyscrapers’ championship plans — it would reinforce Riddle’s own case as a top contender in a heavyweight picture that’s heating up.

This matchup also underscores how MLW has positioned The Skyscrapers as a genuine threat to the traditional balance of power. A faction built around size and force targeting the World Heavyweight Championship changes the complexion of the title picture, especially if Dijak, Bishop, and Dyer can rack up wins over established singles competitors like Riddle. A statement victory for Dyer would give the trio real momentum and a legitimate case for a title shot down the line. On the other hand, a Riddle win would be a significant setback for a group that has largely bulldozed its way through the tag division without much resistance from singles talent.

Expect this main event to set the tone for how MLW builds toward its next World Heavyweight Championship program. The Skyscrapers have made their intentions loud and clear, and Riddle now stands as the first real test of whether their ambitions match their in-ring results.

MLW Fusion airs Saturday, August 29, at 6:05 PM ET, streaming free on YouTube, with the show also available at 9:00 PM ET on VEEPS. The episode will additionally stream the following Monday at 12:00 PM JST on NJPW WORLD.
