Kenny Omega’s AEW Title Celebration Erupts Into Chaos on Dynamite

AEW Dynamite aired live from Boston on Wednesday, July 15, and the show’s centerpiece — a celebration for new AEW World Champion Kenny Omega — turned into one of the night’s wildest segments after Kevin Knight cashed in his guaranteed title shot.

Tony Schiavone brought Omega out for a red-carpet celebration of his first world title reign in more than 1,100 days, with The Young Bucks on hand to congratulate him and Will Ospreay praising Omega as one of his biggest inspirations. Before Omega and Ospreay could shake hands, Knight interrupted, reminding Omega that the MJF-granted title opportunity he’s holding is still on the table, and demanded a match at Redemption. Omega accepted, but tried to talk Knight into breaking away from Don Callis. Knight refused and blasted Omega with a microphone, sparking a brawl that pulled in Ospreay, Darby Allin, Brian Cage, the rest of the Don Callis Family, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli before the Death Riders retreated.

Earlier, Cope and Cage successfully defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta after Cage delivered a low blow that set up Cope’s Spear. The Young Bucks watched from ringside before Claudio and the Death Riders rushed in, triggering a brawl that The Bang Bang Gang broke up — with a tense moment between Jay White and Cage before Cope calmed things down.

Andrade continued building toward Redemption, revealing he now has possession of MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring — hinting Ospreay may have handed it over — before beating Jake Doyle to earn an AEW National Championship match against Mark Davis at Redemption.

Kyle Fletcher retained the AEW International Championship over Komander in a hard-hitting bout, but the win was overshadowed by Konosuke Takeshita’s post-match attack and the arrival of Kazuchika Okada, who dropped Takeshita with a Rainmaker. Bandido, who has been feuding with Fletcher, later got a title shot of his own set for Redemption. Elsewhere, Darby Allin outlasted Brian Cage in a punishing brawl, and AEW confirmed Hikaru Shida will defend the TBS Championship against Queen Aminata on Collision. The main event saw Mercedes Moné, Lena Kross and Megan Bayne defeat Willow Nightingale, Hyan and Maya World after Moné hit the Money Maker on Hyan.
