Freddy Cordova is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about names coming out of the Arizona Pro Wrestling Center, and the Tucson native laid out his career goals — including a shot at WWE or AEW television within the next three to five years — during a recent appearance on the Wrestling Epicenter podcast.
Cordova, who trains under Dom Vitalli in Mesa, said he fell in love with wrestling as a kid watching the Monday Night Wars with his father, citing Stone Cold Steve Austin, Jeff Hardy and The Rock as early influences, with the Eddie Guerrero–Rey Mysterio feud in 2005 cementing his desire to get in the ring himself. He began training in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic after seeing a tryout announcement for the Arizona Pro Wrestling Center and said he never second-guessed the decision.
Since then, Cordova has become a fixture for Phoenix Championship Wrestling, telling host “Arizona” James Walsh that this has been his busiest year yet as a pro, with bookings across Colorado, New Mexico and Las Vegas — including an appearance for Future Stars of Wrestling, a promotion with alumni like LA Knight, Solo Sikoa and Killer Kross — and a trip to Texas planned for September. He also spoke about transitioning from a traditional babyface into a more villainous role after an injury forced him out of action, saying he now leans into being the most talented performer in any given locker room.
Cordova is part of PCW’s Infernal Sins stable and will have a personal stake in Saturday night’s card at the Eagles in Mesa, where PCW is running its Live on Broadway event on July 18. A battle royal on that show will determine the next challenger for the PCW Heavyweight Championship, currently held by WWE ID signee and EVOLVE standout CJ Valor. Cordova noted that the title left Infernal Sins’ hands when Valor beat Kevin Koa for the belt in May, and vowed that whether it’s himself, Baker Jeffcoat, Damon Ace or Koa who wins the battle royal, the championship is coming back to his stable.
As for Valor’s rise to WWE ID, Cordova said watching a former PCW trainee reach that level only adds fuel to his own pursuit of a national spotlight.
