Ethan Page Blasts ‘Coward Luchador Bums’ After Raw Loss to Rey Mysterio, Vows to Chase Intercontinental Gold

Ethan Page is not taking his latest defeat lying down. Following a loss to Rey Mysterio on Monday Night Raw, the outspoken Canadian took to social media to air his grievances — and he didn’t mince words.

In a post on Twitter accompanied by a video, Page delivered a heated message: “Yet to meet a luchador who isn’t a coward. You know where to find me.” The video went further, with a fired-up Page addressing the camera directly: “Great. Now you want to put a camera in my face. Perfect time. And let me make one point very clear — no matter the outcome tonight, one thing I will not do is hide my face in shame. This is the face that got me here and this is the face that’s gonna bring me to the top. You coward luchador bums. This is far from over, and so is my quest for gold. I’m just getting started.”

Page’s frustration with the luchador contingent on the WWE roster has been building for months. Back in May, he fell to Penta on WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event — a loss that prompted him to declare that the Intercontinental Championship had finally gotten the spotlight it deserved, telegraphing his ambitions for the title clearly. His rivalry with Penta continued on WWE’s recent European Summer Tour, where the two squared off twice, with Chad Gable and Penta picking up a tag team victory over Page and Rusev during the tour swing.

The pair have a history that predates WWE. During their time in AEW, Page and Penta crossed paths in the multi-man Face of the Revolution Ladder Match at AEW Revolution in March 2021 — an encounter eventually won by Scorpio Sky — and later shared the ring in a tag team setting on AEW Rampage in June 2023. Despite those overlapping years, the two wouldn’t actually meet in a singles match until Saturday Night’s Main Event earlier this year.

With Penta currently holding the Intercontinental Championship, the pieces are in place for this feud to escalate further. Should Page eventually dethrone Penta, it would represent his first main roster title win in WWE — significant stakes for a performer who has made no secret of his hunger for gold. Based on his post-Raw outburst, he has no intention of stepping aside anytime soon.
