Eric Bischoff Compares Oba Femi to Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, Urges WWE to Put Him ‘On a Rocket’

Fresh off his King of the Ring victory, Oba Femi is drawing some lofty comparisons — and from a source who knows a thing or two about building megastars. WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff used his 83 Weeks podcast to heap praise on the rising NXT product, likening him to two of the most physically dominant performers the business has ever seen.

“He’s a prototype. Could you ask AI to kick out anything that looks more perfect as a professional wrestling character than Oba Femi or Brock Lesnar?” Bischoff said, calling Femi “larger than life, unbeatable looking, ferocious, great baby face, scary heel.”

For Bischoff, the praise comes with an urgent message for WWE’s creative team: don’t overthink it. He argued that performers built in Femi’s mold — rare combinations of size, athleticism, and natural screen presence — demand an immediate, aggressive push rather than a patient developmental build. Drawing on his own experience booking Goldberg’s legendary undefeated streak in WCW, Bischoff outlined a straightforward blueprint.

“Goldberg (and) Oba, and just give him a mission, and have him go accomplish the s— out of it, whatever it is, just eat through people till you’ve got him built up,” he said. “There’s very little in between with a guy like that.”

Bischoff warned that audiences lose patience quickly when a powerhouse isn’t given clear direction. “If you don’t put him on the path, the audience is like, yeah, there’s nothing to get. He’s big, big deal,” he said. “You put him on a rocket.”

He added that short attention spans make hesitation particularly costly. “I have a feeling I’d start building the hell out of them,” Bischoff said, underscoring the urgency of striking while Femi’s momentum is at its peak.

With King of the Ring gold already on his resume, Femi appears to be exactly the kind of investment Bischoff is describing — and by the sound of it, the clock is already ticking on how WWE chooses to use him.
