Don Callis Heaps Praise On Longtime Partner Scott D’Amore

Don Callis is singing the praises of his longtime friend and business partner Scott D’Amore. The two have known each other and worked in wrestling together for decades, and these days that partnership continues at Maple Leaf Pro, D’Amore’s independent promotion, where Callis sits on the commentary team.

Speaking about their relationship, Callis didn’t hold back on how much he values D’Amore as a collaborator. “I think he’s a great partner to have,” Callis said, summing up years of mutual trust built across multiple stops in the wrestling business.

Callis and D’Amore’s history runs deep, stretching back well before either man became a prominent behind-the-scenes figure in modern wrestling. D’Amore is best known for his executive run in TNA/Impact Wrestling, where he helped steer the promotion through some of its most turbulent and eventually stabilizing years, while Callis has become one of the most recognizable on-screen personalities and creative minds in AEW. Despite their high-profile roles elsewhere, the two have continued finding ways to work together, and Maple Leaf Pro represents the latest chapter of that ongoing collaboration.

With Callis lending his commentary voice to D’Amore’s promotion, the arrangement underscores just how much mutual respect exists between the pair, even as both remain heavily involved with major companies on the wrestling landscape. It’s a reminder that some of wrestling’s most enduring relationships are built away from the biggest spotlights, in smaller rooms where trust and shared history matter more than title or paycheck.

Neither Callis nor D’Amore have given any indication that their Maple Leaf Pro partnership is winding down, and given how long they’ve already worked together, it’s safe to assume fans will keep seeing Callis behind the commentary desk for D’Amore’s promotion for the foreseeable future.
