Chad Gable Posts Emotional Response After Otis Apology Rejected on WWE Raw

Chad Gable’s road back from his time as El Grande Americano hit a painful roadblock on Monday’s WWE Raw in London — and he had something to say about it afterward.

Gable called Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri to the ring and issued an emotional apology, leaning heavily on the two decades he and Otis have shared in professional wrestling. By all appearances, Otis was ready to let it go — until Maxxine Dupri stepped in, shut it down, scolded Gable, and led both Otis and Tozawa away from the ring without accepting anything.

After the show, Gable took to social media with a brief but pointed message: “We’ve written a hell of a book the past 20 years, I hope this isn’t the final chapter.”

It’s a meaningful moment in an arc that has already seen Gable extend olive branches to a number of people he wronged during his run as the masked luchador El Grande Americano. Penta, Rey Mysterio, Rey Fenix, Dragon Lee, and others all accepted his apologies in recent weeks. The Alpha Academy contingent, whom Gable mistreated during his heel turn in 2024, proved a much harder room to win back.

The rejection adds a new layer of tension to where Gable goes from here. WWE’s SummerSlam is set to take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota — Gable’s hometown — giving the storyline a natural destination. Whether that means a singles championship chase, a clash involving Maxxine and her apparent new allegiances, or something centered on Gable and Otis directly remains to be seen, but Monday’s events made clear the Alpha Academy reunion isn’t happening anytime soon.
