Bishop Dyer Wins Jiu-Jitsu Gold Medal at Florida World League Event

Baron Corbin may be gone from WWE programming, but the man now known as Bishop Dyer is staying competitive — just on the mats instead of inside the squared circle. Dyer recently took to social media to announce that he won a gold medal at the Jiu Jitsu World League Florida XII, an impressive result made even more notable by the circumstances surrounding it.

In his own words posted online, Dyer made clear he was working through some adversity heading into the competition: “Yo. A month off with the eye. Three days of training. What do we do? We still get gold. Add it to the…” — a confident declaration that, despite dealing with an eye injury that kept him out of training for roughly a month and with only three days of prep under his belt, he still managed to climb to the top of the podium.

Dyer, who spent years in WWE under the Baron Corbin name — capturing the United States Championship, Money in the Bank briefcase, and earning multiple main-event opportunities — has been carving out his post-WWE path since parting ways with the company. His grappling credentials have long been a genuine part of his athletic background, so a result like this isn’t coming out of nowhere, even if the quick turnaround after injury makes it all the more impressive.

The win serves as a reminder that Dyer remains a serious competitor in whatever arena he steps into. Whether this signals a deeper pursuit of combat sports or simply reflects his off-season drive, he’s clearly not content to sit still.
