AEW Takes Over Target Field for Post-Game Brawl in the Ballpark on July 10

AEW is bringing professional wrestling to a Major League Baseball stadium in Minneapolis on Friday, July 10, partnering with the Minnesota Twins for a special postgame event dubbed Brawl in the Ballpark at Target Field.

Following the Twins’ game against the Los Angeles Angels, fans remaining at the ballpark will be treated to roughly 75 minutes of live wrestling action staged at Gate 34. The event is exclusive to ticketholders at the stadium and will not be broadcast or streamed in any form — making it a genuinely one-of-a-kind experience for those in the building.

AEW has announced five matches for the card. The Hurt Syndicate — Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin — will square off against Shane Taylor Promotions’ Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty. Julia Hart faces Hyan. Hook, Anthony Bowens, and Action Andretti team up against Komander and Top Flight’s Dante and Darius Martin. Brian Cage meets Serpentico, and Orange Cassidy takes on Wheeler Yuta.

The show carries an added layer of meaning for several performers on the card. Julia Hart and the Martin brothers — Darius and Dante of Top Flight — are all Minnesota natives, meaning Brawl in the Ballpark doubles as a homecoming for three members of the roster.

The crossover between baseball and wrestling extended to the pregame festivities as well. Anthony Bowens, who played collegiate baseball before transitioning to professional wrestling, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Target Field ahead of the Twins game.

Admission to the wrestling event is included with a standard baseball ticket, giving the entire crowd access at no extra charge. It’s a savvy outreach effort by AEW, putting the product in front of a mainstream sports audience that may not otherwise seek out professional wrestling.
