AEW Collision Results (August 8, 2026): Continental Challenge Cup Kicks Off with Castagnoli, Cassidy and Kingston Advancing, Kevin Knight Snubs Darby Allin for a Jericho Title Match

AEW Collision aired live from Colorado Springs on August 8, 2026, marking another step on the road to All In: London at Wembley Stadium, with the first round of the inaugural Continental Challenge Cup taking center stage.

In the tournament’s opening match, Claudio Castagnoli and Ace Austin put on a hard-hitting clash of power versus agility. Austin countered several of Castagnoli’s attempts with agile counters and near-falls, including a guillotine leg drop off the top, but Castagnoli ultimately caught a charging Austin and popped him up into an uppercut for the pinfall, becoming the first-ever winner in Continental Challenge Cup history. Later in the night, Orange Cassidy squared off with Matt Sydal for the first time and came away with the victory to book his spot in the round of eight. The tournament’s third first-round bout closed the show, with reigning Continental Champion Eddie Kingston battling Don Callis Family member Jake Doyle before locking in the Stretch Plum for the submission win.

Elsewhere on the card, Darby Allin issued a challenge to TNT Champion Kevin Knight for a Falls Count Anywhere match at All In: London, but Knight opted not to accept, instead announcing he’ll defend the TNT Title against Chris Jericho this coming Wednesday on Dynamite. It was also revealed that the second entrant spot in the Casino Gauntlet will be determined in a three-way match between MJF, Nick Wayne and “Speedball” Mike Bailey, with Bailey picking up a win over Myron Reed of The Rascalz earlier in the show. Jon Moxley also sent a pointed message toward “Jungle” Jack Perry, while David Finlay spoke about his desire to finish off Jay White in their upcoming Continental Challenge Cup encounter, and Perry expressed readiness to face Moxley in the tournament.

In tag team action, Jon Moxley teamed with fellow Death Riders PAC, Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia to defeat Bang Bang Gang’s Colten Gunn, Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson alongside Jack Perry, with help from The Dogs factoring into the finish. The Brawling Birds, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor, dominated Viva Van and VertVixen and closed the bout with their 2 Birds, 1 Stone finisher for the win — only to be ambushed and laid out afterward by their All In: London opponents, Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion. Additional undercard action saw The Rascalz’ Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz defeat Aaron Solo and Steven Fuerte, and CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone teaming with Hikaru Shida to beat TBS Champion Maya World and Hyan.

The show also featured a recap of Will Ospreay’s bloody Mexico City Street Fight win over Mark Davis at Grand Slam: Mexico, after which Ospreay sent a message to AEW World Champion Kenny Omega ahead of their showdown at All In: London. Motor City Machine Guns, fresh off their Detroit debut, put the roster on notice, and the show included updates on G1 Climax defending champion Konosuke Takeshita, a possible alliance between the Hurt Syndicate and Shane Taylor Promotions, and a tribute to the late Dory Funk Jr.
