WWE Scheduling Raw and SmackDown Double Taping in Cleveland on August 28

WWE has announced a double taping event that will produce episodes of both SmackDown and Raw on the same night. The taping is scheduled for Friday, August 28 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

SmackDown will air live at its regular 8 PM ET timeslot on USA Network that evening. Once SmackDown wraps, cameras will roll again as WWE tapes the following week’s episode of Raw, which is set to air on Monday, August 31 on Netflix.

Double tapings are a scheduling tool WWE has used throughout its history, typically deployed around holiday weekends or when logistical circumstances make it more practical to produce two shows from a single city on a single night. With Raw now airing on Netflix following the streaming giant’s landmark deal with WWE, the August 31 episode will be among the tapings produced under that arrangement.

Fans in the Cleveland area will get an unusual opportunity to attend both shows in one evening, though the live SmackDown broadcast will take place first before the Raw taping follows. It marks a notable night on WWE’s summer calendar, coming in the final stretch before the traditional post-SummerSlam period, when the company typically begins building toward its fall programming slate.

Tickets and further event details have not been announced as part of this initial scheduling notice.
