WWE Raw on July 6, 2026 delivered a dramatic night of title changes, shocking attacks and SummerSlam build, headlined by a last-minute championship main event that ended with a new Undisputed WWE Champion.
The evening began with Gunther launching a vicious surprise assault on Cody Rhodes, putting The American Nightmare out of action before he could compete in his scheduled Undisputed WWE Championship match against Sami Zayn. Elsewhere, Seth Rollins addressed why World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns was absent from Raw ahead of their SummerSlam clash, only for LA Knight to confront Rollins — a moment that ended with Knight getting dropped by Jimmy Uso.
Oba Femi then came face to face with Paul Heyman to make clear he is prepared to step inside Hell in a Cell against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, with Heyman representing Lesnar’s interests in the exchange.
In tag team action, Ethan Page and Rusev defeated Chad Gable and Dragon Lee after Rusev forced Lee to submit to the Accolade. The two then continued their attack on Gable and Lee after the bell, and when Joe Hendry ran out to intervene, Rusev put him down as well.
The World Tag Team Championship changed hands when The Street Profits put the titles on the line in a rematch against The Vision — the team of Bron Breakker and Austin Theory. Logan Paul introduced brass knuckles into the equation, distracting the referee long enough for Maxxine Dupri to sneak in and deliver a low blow to Angelo Dawkins. Theory covered Dawkins for the pin, and he and Breakker reclaimed the championships.
In the Women’s Intercontinental Championship match, Sol Ruca retained against Raquel Rodriguez thanks in part to IYO SKY, who neutralized Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez before they could interfere. Ruca then hit the Sol Snatcher on Rodriguez to secure the victory.
The night’s headline moment came in the main event. With Cody Rhodes unable to compete following Gunther’s earlier attack, CM Punk stepped in as a replacement challenger to face Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Punk countered a Helluva Kick attempt from Zayn, delivered one of his own, and then finished the champion with the Go-To-Sleep to pin Zayn and capture the Undisputed WWE title.
