Willow Nightingale Pulled From TJPW Card Due To Flight Issues

Willow Nightingale will not be competing at Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling’s show on Saturday, July 18, after running into travel complications ahead of the event.

TJPW announced that Nightingale ran into flight issues that prevented her from reaching Japan in time for the show. The promotion said it worked to find alternative flights for her, but couldn’t line up an option that would get her there before the bell rang.

Nightingale had been advertised to face Mizuki on the card. With her unable to make it, TJPW has slotted in Chris Brookes as her replacement to take on Mizuki instead.

Nightingale has built a strong relationship with the joshi scene over the past few years, making regular appearances for TJPW and other Japanese promotions alongside her AEW schedule. Travel snags between international bookings aren’t uncommon in wrestling, especially for talent working overseas dates on tight turnarounds, and this instance appears to be a case of logistics simply not lining up in time.

No word yet on whether Nightingale and Mizuki will look to reschedule their matchup for a future date, but fans can catch the reshuffled card when TJPW runs its July 18 show as planned.
