Wade Barrett Joins Vic Joseph On NXT Commentary For Great American Bash Go-Home Show

Wade Barrett made a return to the NXT commentary desk on Monday, joining play-by-play voice Vic Joseph for the June 23rd edition of WWE NXT on The CW.

The pairing was revealed at the top of the broadcast, with Barrett — who currently serves as a commentator on Friday Night SmackDown — sliding into the booth alongside Joseph for what is a significant episode of NXT. The June 23rd show serves as the go-home edition heading into Great American Bash, the premium live event scheduled for June 28th.

Barrett is one of the more versatile voices in WWE’s broadcast lineup. Originally making his name as a top-tier heel performer throughout the 2010s, he transitioned into commentary and has become a recognizable part of the SmackDown team in recent years. His crossover to NXT for a high-stakes episode makes sense given the added weight of a go-home show, where the commentary team plays a key role in selling the stakes of the upcoming event.

With Great American Bash just days away, NXT’s final television push before the event carries added importance for establishing feuds and building anticipation. Barrett’s presence adds a familiar, polished voice to a show that needed to close out its storytelling strong heading into the weekend.
