Tony Khan Praises Sting’s Son Steven Borden’s Wrestling Future

Tony Khan has some high praise for the next Borden to step into a wrestling ring. Speaking on Power Players with Brian, the AEW President expressed confidence that Steven Borden, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Sting, has the tools to become a genuinely great performer.

Borden’s in-ring journey traces back to AEW Revolution 2024, when he appeared as “Wolfpac Sting” alongside his father during what turned out to be Sting’s final match before retirement. That emotional moment appears to have sparked something in the younger Borden, who has since pursued professional wrestling in earnest.

Since turning pro, Steven Borden has worked a small number of matches on the independent scene while also gaining reps in dark matches held before AEW television tapings — the kind of low-pressure, developmental setting many young wrestlers use to sharpen their craft away from the spotlight. It’s a path that suggests Borden and those around him, including Khan, are taking a patient, long-term approach to his development rather than rushing him onto national television.

Given his father’s legacy as one of the most iconic figures in wrestling history, any move by Steven Borden into the business was bound to draw attention. Khan’s public vote of confidence adds another layer of intrigue to that story, hinting that AEW could see a future for the second-generation talent as he continues to log more experience.

For now, there’s no word on when — or if — Borden might make a more prominent appearance on AEW programming, but Khan’s comments make clear that the promotion is keeping an eye on his progress. Given the emotional tie between the Borden name and AEW’s history, it wouldn’t be a surprise if his path eventually leads to a bigger stage.
