TNA Launches Knockouts TV Title Tournament Featuring WWE’s Thea Hail and Wendy Choo

TNA Wrestling has introduced a brand-new championship to its women’s division — the Knockouts Television Title — and the tournament to crown its inaugural champion is already taking shape, with two familiar WWE faces set to compete.

Announced during the Slammiversary pre-show, the title was revealed alongside a full eight-woman-per-side bracket that will play out over the coming weeks on TNA iMPACT. Fans in Albany will get the first look at the action this Wednesday and Thursday before it hits television.

On the left side of the bracket, Thea Hail meets Harley Hudson, while Wendy Choo goes up against Elayna Black. Both Hail and Choo are active WWE talents, reflecting the ongoing working relationship between the two promotions. Should they each win their first-round matches, they’d be on a collision course in the semifinals. Indi Hartwell faces Vicki Venuto, and M By Elegance takes on Rosemary to round out that half.

The right side features Jada Stone vs. Alisha Edwards, Jody Threat vs. Gabby Forza, Mara Sade vs. Tasha Steelz, and Heather By Elegance vs. Allie. That last matchup carries some extra weight — Rosemary and Allie, the team known as DemonXBunny, defeated Heather and M By Elegance at Slammiversary to capture the Knockouts World Tag Team Championships, so the tournament appears set to extend that rivalry in singles form.

Slammiversary also saw the Knockouts World Championship change hands, with Xia Brookside defeating Lei Ying Lee for the title.

With the Knockouts TV Title now in play, TNA’s women’s division boasts three active championships alongside the World and Tag Team titles — a significant expansion for a roster that previously carried just those two belts. The tournament kicking off this week gives the new title immediate momentum heading into the summer.
