Tiger Mask IV Set for Six-Man Tag the Night Before His NJPW Retirement Show

Tiger Mask IV is spending his final days in professional wrestling exactly the way you’d expect — still competing. The legendary masked competitor is scheduled for six-man tag team action on July 6th, just one night before his official retirement show takes place under the New Japan Pro-Wrestling banner on July 7th.

The retirement event itself will feature Tiger Mask IV in two singles matches, one of which is confirmed to be against Black Tiger, the role currently portrayed by Rocky Romero. The booking of a six-man tag the evening prior means fans will have the opportunity to see Tiger Mask IV compete across back-to-back nights as he winds down a career that has spanned decades and cemented him as one of the most recognizable figures in Japanese wrestling history.

Tiger Mask IV has been a fixture in NJPW since the 1990s, carrying forward one of the most storied masked personas in the history of the sport — a lineage that traces back to Satoru Sayama’s iconic original run in the early 1980s. His tenure under the mask has included numerous championship reigns and a reputation as a reliable, technically sound performer who helped keep the Tiger Mask legacy alive for a new generation of fans.

With the retirement show now firmly on the calendar, the July 7th event shapes up as a meaningful send-off for a man who has given a significant portion of his life to NJPW. Two singles bouts on the night itself, following tag action the day before, suggests the promotion is committed to giving him a proper farewell on the way out.
