Seth Rollins Picks GUNTHER as the Biggest Threat in WWE Title Triple Threat at Night of Champions 2026

With Night of Champions 2026 on the horizon, Seth Rollins has weighed in on Saturday’s WWE Championship triple threat — and his money is on GUNTHER.

In an interview with ESPN ahead of the show, Rollins broke down the dynamics of the three-way match between defending champion Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, and GUNTHER. While Rollins acknowledged Rhodes as a fearless champion who actively sought out this challenge, he pointed out that being the titleholder comes with an inherent disadvantage: “I think the most to lose is the champion. That’s always the case.”

Rollins also flagged the stipulation working against Rhodes: in a triple threat, the champion can lose the title without even being involved in the deciding fall.

But the bigger edge, in Rollins’ estimation, belongs to GUNTHER — and it comes down to emotional detachment. “I think the person with the best advantage, if I’m being honest, currently, is GUNTHER,” Rollins said. “He’s got the size advantage, and also, he’s not really locked into the personal issue that seems to be going on between Cody and Sami Zayn. Sami and Cody, they’ve been friends, and now they’re enemies, but not quite — there’s a lot of emotion that’s involved there. GUNTHER, he’s able to isolate from that. He takes the emotion and puts it aside. He’s there to do a job, and that’s win the title, and that makes him an extremely dangerous participant in this triple threat.”

Rollins knows GUNTHER firsthand — he noted the Ring General beat him at WrestleMania, with an assist from Bron Breakker. That same Bron Breakker is Rollins’ opponent in a steel cage match at Night of Champions, giving him plenty of his own unfinished business to deal with on Saturday.

With Rhodes and Zayn navigating a complicated history and a world title on the line, Rollins’ read is clear: GUNTHER’s cold, calculated approach may be exactly what it takes to walk out of Night of Champions as WWE Champion.
