Report: WWE Explored International Venue for Survivor Series Before Talks Stalled

WWE’s plans for Survivor Series 2026 could have looked considerably different — had key negotiations not fallen apart.

According to a recent report, WWE spent several months seriously exploring the possibility of staging this year’s Survivor Series outside the United States. Those discussions ultimately failed to come together, which is why no host city for the November premium live event has been officially announced despite the calendar steadily moving forward.

Boston, Massachusetts, also emerged as a strong domestic contender to land the show. However, financial negotiations with the city reportedly broke down, mirroring a similar situation that reportedly occurred around discussions tied to John Cena’s advertised final match. Both scenarios ending without a deal paints a picture of WWE driving a hard bargain as it weighs its options for one of its flagship annual events.

Survivor Series has grown in stature in recent years, largely due to the addition of WarGames as its centerpiece attraction. That elevated profile may be part of what’s driving WWE’s ambition to potentially take the show overseas — the company appears intent on maximizing the event’s commercial value rather than defaulting to a familiar domestic market.

For now, WWE has no international premium live events confirmed for the rest of 2026. The company’s next overseas stadium-scale date is WrestleMania 43, set for Saudi Arabia in 2027. Even so, the appetite for expanding the international PLE calendar reportedly remains, with WWE keeping an eye open for the right opportunity and the right financial terms.

Where Survivor Series 2026 ultimately lands remains to be seen, but it’s clear the decision is anything but straightforward.
