Randy Orton Still Set For Fanatics Fest Despite Meet-And-Greet Cancellation

Randy Orton is expected to be in New York City this weekend for Fanatics Fest, even though his scheduled autograph and photo-op session has been called off.

The cancellation of Orton’s meet-and-greet slot doesn’t appear to be keeping him away from the event entirely. He’s still expected to make an appearance at Fanatics Fest, which runs this weekend, even without that particular fan-facing opportunity on the schedule.

Fanatics Fest has become one of the bigger stops on the sports and pop-culture convention circuit, drawing major names from wrestling, football, basketball and beyond for autograph signings, panels and photo ops. Wrestling personalities appearing at these kinds of multi-sport conventions has become increasingly common in recent years, giving talent another avenue to connect with fans outside of live event weekends.

No further detail has been made available on why the autograph and photo session specifically was scrapped, or what Orton’s role at the convention will look like instead. It’s unclear at this point whether he’ll appear in some other capacity — such as a panel or interview segment — or simply be present without a formal fan interaction slot.

Orton, a third-generation performer and one of WWE’s most decorated stars over the last two decades, remains one of the promotion’s top merchandise and attraction draws even as he continues to work through injuries and a lighter in-ring schedule in recent years. His presence at high-profile events like Fanatics Fest, even in a limited capacity, tends to generate buzz among fans regardless of whether a formal signing is attached.

More details on Orton’s appearance and the exact nature of his involvement are expected to emerge as the weekend approaches.
