Penta Addresses Brothers’ Separate Title Runs, Promises He and Fenix Will Unite Again

The bond between Penta and Rey Fenix isn’t broken — it’s just on pause. Penta has spoken publicly about the unusual situation of he and his brother both holding singles championships at the same time, framing the current chapter as each man carving his own path before an inevitable reunion.

“We have started building in different ways,” Penta said, while making clear that the two will eventually come back together.

The dynamic shifted back in May when Fenix captured the AAA Cruiserweight Championship — his first singles title since joining WWE. It was a milestone moment for Fenix as an individual performer, and he has backed it up by successfully defending the title on multiple occasions since.

For years, Penta and Fenix have been synonymous with tag team excellence, their chemistry as a duo widely regarded as one of the most electric acts in wrestling regardless of promotion. Seeing them succeed independently adds another dimension to both men’s legacies, even if it represents a temporary divergence from their usual partnership.

Penta’s comments suggest this isn’t a split born of tension but rather a deliberate, organic evolution — two brothers growing individually before reconnecting. With both men holding gold and building momentum on their own terms, the prospect of them eventually reuniting as a unit carries even more weight than it would have before. When that moment comes, they’ll each bring a singles track record to go along with everything they’ve already accomplished together.
