Paige Warns Fans to Expect Tears as She Returns to England for WWE Raw London Show

Paige is heading home — and she’s not making any promises about keeping it together.

Ahead of the June 21 episode of WWE Raw in London, Paige took to Twitter after landing in England to express just how much the occasion means to her. The post read: “Man I feel so grateful. Landing in England and knowing tomorrow I get to walk out there and wrestle in front of my home country with the @WWE and my girl @NikkiAndBrie. Feels so good to be home, apologies in advance if there’s tears in my entrance.”

It will mark Paige’s first time wrestling on home soil since re-signing with WWE in April, and her first appearance in front of a London crowd since April 21, 2016 — a SmackDown taping where she and Natalya picked up a tag team win over Tamina and Naomi. That’s nearly a decade, and a lot of ground covered in the interim, including a retirement from in-ring competition in early 2018.

Now back in the ring and holding gold, Paige will team with Brie Bella to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria on the London Raw. Valkyria has made clear she believes she and Bayley will leave with the titles, adding genuine stakes to what is already a loaded emotional moment for the champion.

The London card also features The Vision — Bron Breakker and Austin Theory — defending the World Tag Team Titles against the Street Profits, making the go-home show before Night of Champions in Riyadh a stacked one top to bottom.

For Paige, though, none of that is likely to overshadow the simple fact of walking out in front of a crowd that has watched her since the very beginning. Whether or not the tears come, Monday’s London crowd will almost certainly bring the noise regardless.
