Nikkita Lyons Captures WWE Evolve Women’s Championship at Succession III

Nikkita Lyons has a title to her name. The former NXT standout defeated Wendy Choo in the opening match of tonight’s Evolve Succession III event to become the new WWE Evolve Women’s Champion.

Lyons first arrived in NXT back in 2021 and quickly became one of the more prominently pushed women of the NXT 2.0 era. Repeated injury setbacks, however, derailed her momentum and kept her away from television for extended stretches. Since returning to action in 2025, she has built her way back primarily through Evolve rather than NXT programming.

The championship win caps a notable stretch of visibility for Lyons. She has appeared in the current third season of WWE LFG on A&E, and has also resurfaced on NXT television in recent weeks, where she appears to be forming some kind of alliance with Nattie and Karmen Petrovic.

As for the title itself, Choo had only recently won it — capturing the belt in an eight-woman gauntlet match on the April 15 Evolve episode after Kendal Grey vacated it upon graduating to a full-time NXT role. The Evolve Women’s Championship lineage now reads Kali Armstrong, Kendal Grey, Wendy Choo, and Nikkita Lyons.

With a championship in hand and what looks like a new alliance developing on NXT, Lyons appears to be positioning herself for a more prominent role heading into the summer. After several years of stop-and-start momentum, tonight’s win is a meaningful step forward.
