Myles Borne Becomes NXT Double Champion, Taunts Grayson Waller

Myles Borne is running out of real estate for gold. On the August 4 episode of NXT, Borne and Tavion Heights captured the NXT Tag Team Championships, giving Borne a second title to go along with the NXT North American Championship he already holds. Shortly after, Borne took to social media to needle Grayson Waller, saying, “You couldn’t win one championship. I’ve got two, bitch.”

The jab is rooted in history between the two. Waller has spent stretches of his NXT run chasing singles gold without closing the deal on the North American strap that Borne now holds, and Borne clearly isn’t letting him forget it. Piling a tag title reign on top of that only sharpens the needle — Borne isn’t just holding one piece of hardware Waller wanted, he’s doubled up.

For Borne, the win with Heights marks a notable escalation. He’s spent his North American Championship reign establishing himself as one of the most dangerous heels on the brand, and adding tag gold alongside a partner in Heights gives him a built-in ally to help fend off the inevitable stream of challengers coming for both belts. The Waller comment suggests NXT is leaning toward the latter for now, using Borne’s new hardware as a weapon in the war of words rather than sitting quietly as a trophy.

With the tag titles freshly around his and Heights’ waists and the North American Championship still in tow, Borne has positioned himself as one of the hottest heel stories on NXT television. Whether Waller answers the call — or whether another contender beats him to the punch — will go a long way toward shaping the next chapter of Borne’s reign.
