MLW Fusion Returns to Atlanta’s Center Stage with CONTRA Civil War, Women’s Title on the Line

Atlanta’s legendary Center Stage venue is set to host one of the more loaded Fusion cards in recent memory, with an internal CONTRA conflict, an inter-promotional women’s championship match, and high-stakes CMLL action all on the docket.

The centerpiece of the card is the fracture within CONTRA itself. Mads Krule Krugger, a man who knows the CONTRA machine from the inside, has joined forces with The Good Brothers and Shotzi under the banner of the CONTRA MERCS. That trio squares off against CONTRA Unit in trios action, with CONTRA’s mysterious Serpent figure demanding vengeance for what the organization views as a betrayal against its cause. It’s a collision between the black flag’s loyalists and a group of dangerous mercenaries who have intimate knowledge of how CONTRA operates.

Shotzi carries double duty on the card, also putting the MLW Women’s World Championship on the line against CMLL luchadora Kira in an inter-promotional title fight. Kira arrives from Mexico with the chance to take the title back across promotional lines, giving the match genuine stakes beyond a standard defense. Shotzi has made a significant impact on MLW’s women’s division since her arrival, but championship gold has a way of drawing out new levels of competition.

The MLW-CMLL alliance produces another bout with real consequences as Titán faces Magnus in a match carrying MLW World Middleweight Championship implications. A win for either luchador could put them squarely in contention for the title, making this more than a showcase match.

Rounding out the card, rising prospect LaBron Kozone faces CONTRA soldier Okumura, a veteran with no interest in doing anyone favors. And following the shocking addition of Josh Bishop to their ranks, the newly configured Skyscrapers — the reigning MLW World Tag Team Champions — will address the division publicly for the first time, with MLW Insider Rich Bocchini looking to get answers about what the roster shakeup means going forward.

Center Stage has a storied history as one of wrestling’s iconic Southern venues, and this Fusion card is built to do justice to that legacy.
