Maya World Calls AEW the Biggest Wrestling Company in the World

Maya World has made no secret of where she stands in the ongoing debate about pro wrestling’s top promotion — as far as she’s concerned, AEW holds that distinction above all others.

In a recent interview, World shared her perspective on what it takes to succeed in professional wrestling while declaring AEW the biggest company in the world. It’s a statement that carries some personal weight coming from her, given how rapidly she’s risen within the promotion over the past several months.

World has been one of the more compelling stories in the AEW Women’s Division lately, building momentum to the point where she advanced all the way to the finals of this year’s Owen Hart Cup — a tournament that carries significant prestige within the company. That kind of deep run puts a spotlight on a performer and signals that the promotion sees something in them worth investing in.

Her comments reflect a broader theme among AEW talent who have found a home in Jacksonville and embraced the company’s identity as a legitimate alternative — and, in her view, the outright leader — in the professional wrestling landscape. Whether fans agree or not, there’s little question that World herself has benefited from the platform AEW has given her, and her tournament run this year demonstrated she can perform on a high-profile stage.

With the Owen Hart Cup in the rearview mirror, it will be worth watching what direction AEW charts for World as she continues building on what has been a breakout stretch of her career.
