Maxxine Dupri Pushes Back On Theory-Mysterio/Morgan Comparisons

Maxxine Dupri isn’t interested in hearing her on-screen pairing with Austin Theory lumped in with WWE’s other prominent real-life-adjacent couple, Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan.

Since Dupri and Theory began their storyline relationship, fans have frequently drawn parallels between the two pairings, given the similar dynamic of a male performer aligned with a strong female presence in a faction setting. Dupri addressed those comparisons directly in a recent appearance on the Nikki & Brie Show, making clear she doesn’t see the two situations as being alike.

Dupri, who recently joined The Vision alongside Theory, has been building her presence on WWE television as part of the growing stable. The Vision has become one of the more talked-about factions on the roster, and Dupri’s pairing with Theory has been a notable storyline thread within that group’s development.

The Mysterio-Morgan dynamic has been a major part of WWE programming for an extended stretch, with Dominik’s alliance with Morgan drawing constant reaction from crowds and becoming one of the promotion’s most talked-about pairings. It’s not surprising that any new on-screen romantic or partnership angle involving a heel faction would draw comparisons to that formula, but Dupri’s comments suggest she wants her and Theory’s story to stand on its own rather than be viewed as a retread.

As The Vision continues to develop as a faction, it remains to be seen how WWE creative plans to further utilize the Dupri-Theory relationship on screen. For now, Dupri has made her feelings on the comparison known, distancing herself and Theory from the shadow of one of WWE’s most prominent pairings of recent years.
