Konnan Gets Positive Health Update Following Double Leg Amputation

AAA Hall of Famer Konnan is receiving encouraging news on the health front after undergoing a double leg amputation, the latest development in a prolonged and serious medical battle.

Konnan, a towering figure in lucha libre history and a longtime fixture in American wrestling as well, has faced a string of serious health challenges over the years, including kidney failure and cardiac issues. One of his legs was amputated back in March, and the second amputation followed, leaving many in the wrestling community deeply concerned about his condition. The latest update, however, offers reason for optimism.

Vince Russo, a longtime associate of Konnan’s, was among those who shared information about his condition following the second amputation. While the road ahead remains a difficult one, the encouraging trajectory of his health is a welcome sign for fans and colleagues who have been pulling for him.

Konnan’s contributions to professional wrestling — both in Mexico and in the United States — are hard to overstate. He was a cornerstone of AAA during its formative years, a multi-time world champion in lucha libre, and later became a key figure in WCW during the nWo era before moving on to work with TNA and continuing to be involved in the wrestling business in various capacities. His larger-than-life personality kept him connected to the industry even as his health woes mounted.

The wrestling world has been rooting for Konnan through each setback, and the positive news offers hope that he continues to fight through one of the toughest stretches of his life.
