Jey Uso Fires Back at Online Critics: ‘I Really Don’t Care About the Fans No More’

Jey Uso isn’t losing sleep over the hate — if anything, it’s motivating him.

Ahead of WWE Night of Champions, Jey sat down with Jackie Redmond and addressed the wave of online backlash he’s faced since rejoining the Bloodline and rolling through the King of the Ring Tournament. His response was direct and unapologetic.

“You wanna be honest? I really don’t care about the fans no more, because when I was doing my thing, they saw all the hate,” Jey said. “I can’t miss it, it’s all in my face. Social media, whatever it is, when my name pops up, I see it out there. Most disliked video on WWE social media platforms, look it up Uce. Like 5, 6, 10 videos out there. It’s all good, if anything that lit a fire under me. All the noise, all the opinions, it is what it is because that’s part of the job.”

He did walk it back slightly, acknowledging that the reaction isn’t entirely one-sided. “I do think he’s beloved by the fans. I take it back, it’s 50/50, I’m confused. Pulling me left and right, I yeet, I talk crap, I’m me now. My day ones know who they are, but there was a lot of people that did doubt me, still doubting me now.”

The context here matters. Jey spent years as one of WWE’s most beloved babyfaces, forging a connection with crowds that felt genuinely organic. His decision to turn back to Roman Reigns’ side — after years of suffering at the Tribal Chief’s hands — has struck a large portion of the fanbase as a creative step backwards, and the King of the Ring Tournament wins have drawn significant pushback online.

Looking ahead to SummerSlam, where he could challenge for the Undisputed WWE Championship if he wins the tournament, Jey said the polarizing reaction doesn’t change his outlook one bit. “I will either be the most loved or the most hated wrestler on planet Earth,” he said. “At the end of the day they’re still watching me. Whether it be good news or bad news, it’s still news.”

Love him or hate him, Jey Uso’s path to the top of the card is clearly just getting started.
