At 22 years old, Je’von Evans already has a WrestleMania appearance on his résumé — and he’s just getting started. The youngest wrestler currently on WWE’s main roster has been speaking openly about his long-term ambitions, and he isn’t setting the bar low.
Appearing on A Shot of Brandi, Evans made clear that his goals extend well beyond title reigns and highlight moments. With decades of potential career time ahead of him, he has his eye on the record books and a place among the all-time greats.
“I feel like, titles and accomplishments is gonna be crazy, I wanna beat a lot of records,” Evans said. “I feel like I’ve got so much time that I can break a lot of records in WWE. But with that I feel like my end goal is I want to be the greatest to ever do it in WWE. Aside from the accomplishments, be in the conversation with like Roman, Cena, Flair, The Rock, Stone Cold, all that. And Cody. Being able to be in that conversation and be like ‘you know what, Je’von was the best to ever do it.’ By the time I retire, I’ll probably retire at like 90 or something. Hey, I love the business.”
Earlier in the same conversation, Evans reflected on the road that brought him to WWE, crediting trainer LaBron Kozone and the independent scene for shaping him. He trained at Firestar Pro Wrestling in Greensboro and spent roughly six years working independents before earning a tryout at age 19. North Carolina-based Deadlock Pro Wrestling stood out as a key stop along the way.
“My trainer is LaBron Kozone, he’s underrated for sure,” Evans said. “Deadlock Pro Wrestling — that was my top tier, they got my name out for real. They gave me a lot of opportunities when it came to big name wrestlers and being able to show who I am.”
Evans made his official WWE main roster debut in January before stepping onto the WrestleMania stage in April. If his ambition matches his trajectory so far, the wrestling world may be watching him for a very long time.
