Former WWE Star Chad Wicks Released After Posting Bond

Former WWE performer Chad Wicks — better known to longtime fans as Chad Dick — was arrested in Iowa and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail, according to a report. He has since been released after posting bond. No further details about the specific charges have been made public at this time.

Wicks’ run in WWE dates back to 2004, when he signed with the company and began training in Ohio Valley Wrestling, WWE’s developmental territory at the time. He initially competed under the name Chad Toland before being repackaged as Chad Dick, the identity most fans associate with his stint on SmackDown. Like many performers from that OVW era, his time on WWE television was relatively brief, but he remains a recognizable name to fans who followed the brand’s developmental pipeline in the mid-2000s.

News of a former WWE talent’s arrest always draws attention, even years after that performer has left the spotlight, simply because of the WWE name recognition attached to it. It’s worth noting that details remain limited — the report doesn’t specify what charges, if any, Wicks is facing, only that he was arrested, booked, and later released on bond. Until more information becomes available through court records or follow-up reporting, it’s best to treat this as a developing situation rather than a fully resolved one.

Wicks hasn’t been a fixture in the wrestling world for some time, and there’s no indication this incident has any connection to the current WWE product or any of its talent. Still, stories like this tend to resurface periodically whenever a name from the company’s past brushes up against legal trouble, largely because the WWE umbrella casts such a wide net over anyone who ever stepped into one of its rings.

PW Exclusive will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if additional information about the arrest or any related charges comes to light.
