CONTRA’s Shadows Deepen as FantasticaMania USA Kicks Off on July 18

Something dangerous is stirring inside CONTRA Unit, and Major League Wrestling is making sure fans know it before FantasticaMania USA gets underway.

MLW FUSION is set for Saturday, July 18, in Charleston, South Carolina — a city the promotion is billing as a homecoming of sorts — but the atmosphere promises to be anything but celebratory. The specter of The Serpent, a mysterious figure whose influence over CONTRA Unit has been steadily growing, looms over the entire event. Who or what The Serpent truly is, what it wants from CONTRA, and how much of the faction is already under its control remain open questions heading into the weekend.

Two developments in particular are driving the tension. KUSHIDA, operating under CONTRA’s black flag, is set to compete in championship action, bringing the faction’s calculated brand of disruption directly into title picture territory. Meanwhile, the resurrection of Mads Krule Krugger has introduced a volatile element that those inside and outside CONTRA may find difficult to manage. Krugger’s return alone raises the stakes considerably — add The Serpent’s unseen hand pulling strings in the background, and FantasticaMania USA becomes as much about survival and power as it does competition.

MLW has framed Charleston as a familiar, welcoming venue, but the promotion is openly acknowledging that the Holy City may not be shielded from whatever comes next in CONTRA’s ongoing campaign against the company.

MLW FUSION on July 18 streams free on YouTube beginning at 6:05 PM ET, with additional availability on VEEPS at 9:00 PM ET and on beIN SPORTS at 10:00 PM ET. International viewers can catch the broadcast on NJPW WORLD the following Monday at 12:00 PM JST.
