CIMA and Magnum Tokyo Reconcile With Dragon Gate in Emotional Reunion

After a period of separation from the promotion he helped build into one of Japan’s most beloved independents, CIMA has reconciled with Dragon Gate — and he didn’t hold back on social media about what the moment meant to him.

CIMA and fellow veteran Magnum Tokyo recently met with Dragon Gate general manager Ryo Saito and company owner Toru Kido, with the four men posing together for a photo that quickly made the rounds online. CIMA posted about the visit on social media, writing, “I went today! Finally, I was able to convey it in my own words. The best.” Saito also acknowledged the reunion publicly, noting that the two sides had “confirmed” something — though the specifics of what was discussed have not been publicly detailed beyond that.

CIMA is one of the founding pillars of Dragon Gate, having been a central figure in the promotion since its earliest days as Toryumon Japan. His influence on the style, structure, and identity of the company is difficult to overstate, making any estrangement between him and the promotion a significant storyline in the world of puroresu. Magnum Tokyo, another Toryumon-era original, similarly carried deep ties to the company’s roots.

The warm tone of both men’s social media posts suggests the reunion was genuinely positive, with CIMA’s words in particular reflecting a sense of relief and closure. Whether this reconciliation leads to any in-ring or backstage role for either man within Dragon Gate remains to be seen, but the door appears to be open in a way it wasn’t before.
