Cash Wheeler Reveals He Shattered His Big Toe at AEW Revolution 2023, Says the Injury Has Only Gotten Worse

By PW Exclusive Pipeline·June 21, 2026

FTR’s Cash Wheeler is still carrying the physical toll of AEW Revolution 2023 — literally. Appearing as a guest on the Late Night Grin podcast with Joe Hulbert, the three-time AEW World Tag Team Champion opened up about a painful injury he sustained at that pay-per-view event: a shattered big toe.

Wheeler discussed a range of career moments and highlights during the conversation, but the Revolution revelation stands out. The 2023 pay-per-view marked the return of Wheeler and his tag team partner Dax Harwood to AEW, making it a significant night for the duo. What Wheeler apparently didn’t reveal publicly at the time was that he was competing through a serious foot injury — a shattered big toe that he has been managing ever since.

Perhaps most concerning is Wheeler’s admission that the condition has worsened over time rather than improving. Wrestling through injuries is a well-worn tradition in the sport, but the fact that the damage has compounded years later speaks to the physical demands FTR continues to place on themselves in pursuit of their craft.

Wheeler and Harwood have long been regarded as one of the premier tag teams in the world, and their reputation is built in no small part on the old-school toughness they bring to every performance. This latest disclosure adds another chapter to that story — even if it’s one Wheeler probably could have done without.

Whether the injury will require surgical intervention or further medical attention going forward was not specified during the interview.
