Caleb Konley Opens Up On JCW Lunacy, ICP And Vince Russo

Caleb Konley, the reigning JCW Lunacy Heavyweight Champion, says the current chapter of his 21-year career is the most fun he has ever had in wrestling, thanks to an unlikely convergence of his lifelong fandom of Insane Clown Posse and his in-ring work.

Speaking on the Wrestling Epicenter podcast, Konley explained that he has been immersed in Juggalo culture since he was 13 or 14 years old, recalling how he once hitchhiked from Atlanta to the Gathering of the Juggalos near Detroit before he was even old enough to drive. He said connecting with strangers in early internet chat rooms helped him find rides north for the festival, and that backyard wrestling and ICP shows were staples of his teenage years long before he ever considered it might intersect with a wrestling career.

That intersection has now fully arrived. Konley serves as the top champion and face of JCW Lunacy, the wrestling promotion tied to Insane Clown Posse’s Psychopathic Records, and he praised Violent J specifically for being hands-on but collaborative, noting that he can text creative ideas to the ICP member at any hour and get a response about whether it fits the show.

Konley also detailed his working relationship with Vince Russo, who serves as his manager on JCW Lunacy programming. He called it surreal to have one of wrestling’s most polarizing and prolific writers in his corner, describing Russo as supportive on a personal level despite the divided opinions fans and critics have long held about his creative style. Konley compared JCW Lunacy’s presentation to the “crash TV” chaos Russo helped popularize during the Attitude Era, arguing that while other retro-styled promotions like NWA Powerrr lean family-friendly, Lunacy leans into the same unpredictable, ECW-adjacent energy of that period — something he says fans consistently tell him they miss from that era of wrestling.

The conversation also touched on Konley’s emotional appearance on Dark Side of the Ring discussing the late Daffney Unger. He said it marked the first time he had spoken publicly about her passing, after years of declining to address it even during charity work tied to her memory, and that he has not yet watched the finished episode himself out of uncertainty about how ready he is to revisit it.

On his TNA Impact Wrestling tenures, Konley reflected on the growth those runs gave him, from learning to work under television conditions during his early stint to reinventing himself under the “Kaleb with a K” persona alongside Tenille Dashwood and Madison Rayne. He credited those chapters, along with his time as the masked Suicide character, with teaching him to adapt to whatever unconventional roles were handed to him.

Looking ahead, Konley pointed to Josh Bishop as his next challenge for the JCW Lunacy title, dismissing Bishop’s size advantage with a joke about brainpower while acknowledging the physical threat he poses.

For a wrestler who has spent two decades bouncing between mainstream television runs and independent scenes, Konley’s current perch atop a Juggalo-fueled promotion feels like a genuine full-circle moment — one built on a fandom he never expected to become part of his job description.
