Bully Ray Labels Jon Moxley a ‘Fraud,’ Takes Shot at AEW’s Death Riders Booking

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has set his sights on Jon Moxley, going on record to call the AEW world champion a fraud while also taking issue with how the Death Riders have been booked in All Elite Wrestling.

The Death Riders have spent the better part of the past year as one of AEW’s most prominent and destructive factions. Led by Moxley, the group has built its identity around a violent, no-nonsense approach to professional wrestling. The current lineup features an imposing collection of talent — Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir, PAC, and Daniel Garcia all standing alongside Moxley as the faction has steamrolled much of the AEW roster.

Despite that in-ring presence, Bully Ray clearly isn’t buying what the Death Riders are selling — at least not in terms of how AEW has presented them. His criticism cuts in two directions: at Moxley personally, with the loaded ‘fraud’ label, and at the creative decisions surrounding the faction as a whole.

Bully Ray is no stranger to strong opinions on the wrestling business, and his comments carry some weight given his experience both inside the ring and in understanding faction dynamics. He spent years as one half of the Dudley Boyz before later running roughshod in TNA as the leader of Aces & Eights, so he knows something about what makes a dominant group click — and what falls flat.

Whether his critique lands with AEW decision-makers remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say Moxley and the Death Riders have no shortage of critics as their grip on AEW continues to draw scrutiny.
