Braun Strowman Returns to In-Ring Action at GLCW Blizzard Brawl

Braun Strowman is back in the ring. The former WWE Universal Champion made his long-awaited return to in-ring competition on Monday, July 13, competing at Great Lakes Championship Wrestling’s Blizzard Brawl event — his first match since April 2025.

Strowman’s comeback came in the form of a handicap match, where he teamed with Kal Herro to take on the trio of Tony Evans, Drew Hernandez, and Tommy Boy. Strowman and Herro came out on top, giving the Monster Among Men a winning return after more than a year away from competition.

The timing of his absence lines up with the end of his run in WWE. Strowman’s contract with the company expired in July 2025, and his last appearance inside the squared circle had come a few months prior to that. The Blizzard Brawl marks his first outing as a free agent, and the fact that he chose the regional Great Lakes Championship Wrestling stage for his comeback is notable — it signals a willingness to work outside the major national promotions as he rebuilds his momentum.

At 6-foot-8 and well north of 300 pounds, Strowman remains one of the most physically imposing performers in professional wrestling. He spent years as one of WWE’s top monster attractions, capturing the Universal Championship and headlining pay-per-view events. How he chooses to leverage his free agency from here — whether through independent dates, a return to a major promotion, or something else entirely — remains to be seen, but his ring return is now officially on the books.
