Andre Chase Says NXT Creative Gave Him No Real Explanation for Chase University’s Disbandment

Andre Chase has opened up about the moment he learned Chase University was being broken up — and by his account, WWE’s creative team didn’t have much of an answer for why it was happening.

Appearing on Between Two Jobs alongside former NXT star Duke Hudson, Chase recalled being informed by WWE executives that the stable was being disbanded. According to Chase, no real reasoning was given to accompany that decision, leaving him without a clear explanation for why one of NXT’s more organically popular acts was being brought to an end.

Chase University had become a genuine fan favorite during its run in NXT, built around the fictional college concept and a loyal roster of students. The faction’s blend of comedy, character work, and in-ring action connected with the NXT audience in a way that felt authentic rather than manufactured. Chase himself became one of the brand’s more beloved figures as a result, and Hudson was a key part of what made the group work.
