Ryan Clancy isn’t letting an MJF insult slide without a response — and he’s made sure to find the irony in the AEW World Champion’s commentary on his appearance.

Earlier in March, MJF addressed the prospect of facing Clancy in a wrestling match during an interview with Undisputed, noting that he had been keeping tabs on him for some time and describing Clancy as ‘very special.’ However, MJF’s remarks apparently included a dig at Clancy’s looks — which didn’t sit well with the target.

Clancy’s rebuttal was pointed. ‘I found it very ironic that someone who flew across the world to get a hair transplant would mention somebody else’s looks,’ Clancy said, delivering a shot that will resonate with anyone familiar with MJF’s well-documented appearance in recent years.

It’s a sharp comeback, and Clancy clearly wasn’t about to absorb the slight quietly. MJF has long built his persona on being the loudest, most cutting voice in any room, so drawing that kind of fire from a rising name suggests Clancy is comfortable playing in that lane. Whether this exchange remains a war of words or escalates into something more tangible inside an AEW ring remains to be seen, but Clancy has at least made clear he’s not intimidated by the champion’s tongue.
