Shotzi Defends Women’s Title, Riddle Enters Opera Cup on Fusion

MLW Fusion airs Thursday, October 15, with a championship-heavy card streaming free on Tubi at 8 PM ET, and the fallout from a stunning upset at the top of the show.

Killer Kross, the promotion’s World Heavyweight Champion, will speak to the MLW Nation alongside Scarlett following his loss to Josh Bishop — the first pinfall anyone has scored over Kross in MLW. That result has reshaped the title picture heading into Saturday Night SuperFight, and with Donovan Dijak also angling for a spot in the spotlight, Kross’s response could set the tone for MLW’s biggest event of the year.

In the night’s featured title defense, Shotzi puts the Women’s World Championship on the line against STARDOM’s Rina, who challenges on the heels of HATE’s win over Shotzi and Lady Frost in New York. Rina’s technical sharpness and HATE’s uncompromising style make her a serious threat to take the belt overseas, setting up a high-stakes clash between two distinct wrestling philosophies.

The Opera Cup also kicks into gear as Matt Riddle makes his first appearance in the tournament, drawing Glasgow’s Mark Coffey in the opening round. With Joe Coffey and Wolfgang lurking at ringside, Riddle — fresh off a grueling Street Fight in New York City — will have to contend with both a dangerous opponent and GBOT’s willingness to stack the odds. It’s a tough early test for anyone hoping to chase down the Opera Cup’s history.

Elsewhere on the card, Love Doug returns in a ten-minute Lightning Match against CONTRA’s Okumura, with Ikuro Kwon at ringside raising the stakes. CONTRA’s Josef Samael is also set to detail the background of Masha, the villainous faction’s newest recruit, pulling back the curtain on a figure positioned as a fresh threat to the women’s division. Undefeated powerhouse ZAMAYA is also advertised for the show as she continues building her case as a top contender.

The night features a notable debut as well: 18-year-old CJ Gallows, son of Doc Gallows, is scheduled to wrestle his first MLW singles match amid the ongoing hostilities between the Glasgow Boys and the Good Brothers. It’s a storyline wrinkle that ties a new generation into one of MLW’s longer-running rivalries.

Fusion has also spent recent weeks teasing unexplained transmissions interrupting the broadcast, and tonight’s show is billed as the point where that mystery starts coming into focus. Between a champion processing his first loss, a cross-promotional title fight, and a tournament already testing its field, this episode carries plenty of weight for a company building toward Saturday Night SuperFight — and the lingering question of who’s behind the broadcast interruptions adds another layer worth watching as the night unfolds.

MLW Fusion is available live and on demand for free on Tubi, with replays also posted to MLW’s YouTube channel and VEEPS. The show is available internationally through NJPW WORLD, and full episodes can be purchased individually or via a Season Pass on Amazon Prime Video.
