Speculation Grows Over Which Stars Could Join BirthRight

BirthRight has quickly become one of WWE’s more distinctive factions since debuting earlier this year, built around a simple but effective gimmick: every member must have pro wrestling in their blood, whether by birth or, in the case of Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, by marriage. The group has grown into a five-person unit on NXT, and with call-ups always a possibility, speculation is mounting over which main roster stars with wrestling bloodlines could eventually be folded into the stable.

Three names stand out as logical, if not necessarily imminent, additions. Dominik Mysterio is an obvious fit on paper as a third-generation performer close in age to BirthRight’s current lineup, though he’s already committed to two factions — The Judgment Day on Raw and El Ojo Del Huracán in AAA. The Judgment Day has looked increasingly directionless of late, which could open a door, though Dom’s well-documented rejection of his father Rey Mysterio’s legacy runs counter to BirthRight’s ethos of honoring wrestling ancestry. He could theoretically lean on his connection to the late Eddie Guerrero instead, but for now this remains pure conjecture.

Bron Breakker presents a more compelling case. The son of Rick Steiner and nephew of Scott Steiner, Breakker checks every box for BirthRight membership despite WWE never officially attaching the Steiner name to him. He’s currently aligned with The Vision alongside Bronson Reed, Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman, but that group’s stability has looked shaky since Oba Femi’s rise on Raw pushed Breakker down the pecking order and reportedly cooled Heyman’s investment in him. If The Vision splinters, BirthRight could be a natural landing spot — though given his main roster standing, Breakker would likely need to walk in as a leader rather than a rank-and-file member.

Then there’s Cody Rhodes, whose name carries perhaps the most intriguing potential. As the son of Dusty Rhodes, Cody would instantly become the most decorated addition BirthRight could dream of, and the idea gains extra weight given the long-teased possibility of a heel turn for “The American Nightmare.” A villainous Cody commandeering BirthRight and installing its existing members as his supporting cast would mirror the way Roman Reigns built The Bloodline into a dynasty — twisting a tribute to his father’s legacy into something far removed from Dusty’s everyman persona.

None of this is confirmed by WWE, and BirthRight remains an NXT property for now. But the appeal of the faction is that it’s built on a concept flexible enough to absorb high-profile main roster talent without feeling forced, unlike so many groups that are simply thrown together for the sake of numbers. Whether it’s Dom searching for a new home, Breakker looking for a fresh alliance if The Vision unravels, or a heel Cody Rhodes searching for muscle to help him rule WWE, BirthRight’s bloodline gimmick gives creative plenty of directions to explore. For now, all eyes stay on NXT to see if and when the group makes its move to Raw or SmackDown.
